NUTRITIONAL STEPS FOR HEALTHY NAILS


1.Lack of vitamin A and calciumcauses dryness and brittleness.
2.Lack of protein, folic acidand vitamin C causes hang nails.
3. White bands across thenails are caused by protein deficiency.
4.A lack of sufficienthydrochloric acid can cause splitting nails.
5.Insufficient intake or vitaminB12 can lead to excessive dryness, very rounded and curved ends and darkeningof nails.
6.Insufficient zinc can causedevelopment of white spots on the nails.
7.Cuts and cracks in the nailsmay indicate a need for more liquids.
8.Red skin around your cuticlescan be caused by poor metabolism of essential fatty acids.
9.Eat a diet composed of 50%fruit and raw vegetables in order to supply necessary vitamins, minerals andenzymes. Eat foods rich in sulfur and silicon, such as broccoli, fish andonions. Include foods rich in biotin such as soy, brewersyeast and whole grains.
10.Drink plenty of water andother liquids.
11.You may supplement your dietwith royal jelly, spirulina or kelp, which are rich in silica, zinc and Bvitamins and help to strengthen your nails.
